OHHHHHHHHH WHATTA GOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL

It took a few games for Cameron Carter-Vickers to find his feet at Sheffield United. The Tottenham Hotspur academy grad signed with the Blades on a season-long loan to get some first team experience just prior to Spurs signing Argentine teenager Juan Foyth this summer, but he didn’t get into Sheffield’s first few matches. That made some wonder whether this would turn out to be a disappointing loan for CCV.

I don’t think we have too much to worry about now. Cam got his Sheffield debut today against Bolton Wanderers, and fired home his first goal in the Championship in the 33rd minute.

Nicely taken, Cam! Apparently, he isn’t done, as just a few minutes later he forced Bolton keeper Ben Alnwick into what sounds like a pretty fantastic save to prevent his brace.

Look, it’s a pretty small sample size and all that, but I’m just sayin’ — maybe Carter-Vickers’ struggles in the back line the past couple of years were more because we’ve been playing him out of position all this time?

What if... he’s a future backup to Harry Kane?!
