Champions League winner and legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a move to China. Via the Mirror, Chinese newspaper Nanfang Daily is claiming that the 58 year old is close to signing a deal with Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Italian was sacked by Bayern Munich earlier this season after a poor start to the Bundesliga season was capped off by a defeat against Paris St. Germain in the Champions League.

Everton let go of manager Ronald Koeman and though Under-23s manager David Unsworth has taken over as interim manager, the Blues are expected to be looking for a longer-term solution right away.

Ancelotti is one of the higher profile names linked with the Goodison Park job, with former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel also mentioned. Among the British-based names that have come up are Burnley manager Sean Dyche, Huddersfield’s David Wagner and Watford’s Marco Silva.

Some former players looking to break into the managerial ranks are former Blues captain Phil Neville and Welsh great Ryan Giggs, but it is quite unlikely Everton are going to go for a completely untested choice.
