Evertonscope: Will David Unsworth Become Boss?

Always the bridesmaid and never the bride? David Unsworth is the caretaker manager for Everton for the second time now and he’s not being bashful about wanting the manager job permanently. Unsy states his case well; he’s managed the Under-23’s to two championships and won an FA cup title as an Everton player in the 90’s. Will he be chosen to stay on past his allotted four games?

So far, Everton lost 2-1 to Chelsea but looked good in the second half. Unsworth could be heard yelling on the sidelines all game and had a lot of praise for his side afterwards.

As a typical Libra, “Rhino” is known for his friendliness and easy going nature. He has been focusing on mending relationships that had gone cold under Koeman. A hopeless romantic, he has extended an offer to have tea with Ross Barkley. Will it be enough to wash away the bad taste left in Barkley’s mouth after being heavily disfavored by Koeman? Libras are naturally compatible with Sagittarius so it is likely the two will see eye to eye.

Everton’s next three games are against Leicester, Lyon, and Watford and the team must focus on one game at a time to get out of the mess they are in.

With the sun moving into Scorpio for Sunday’s game at Leicester, expect to see some very positive things on the pitch. Unsworth will provide some hope for fans and players alike. The theme for this week will be growth, which can be painful but a good learning period if we continue to look forward instead of focusing on the past.

Leicester will have newly appointed manager, Claude Puel, on the sidelines and he will be looking to prove himself as well. Sitting beside him will be assistant coach Michael Appleton, who won two games in the caretaker role but will no longer be Leicester’s number one man.

David Unsworth deserves a shot at manager and if the world were fair, he’d get more than four games to prove himself. In an ultra-competitive Premiere League, it will come down to what other candidates are also going out for the job, no matter what Unsy’s record is for the next three games.

Regardless of what happens behind closed doors, “Rhino” will give Evertonians a sense of their old self back and a path for how to climb out of the bottom three.
