Attacking midfielder Kieran Dowell had started the season well on loan at Nottingham Forest from Everton, scoring twice in nine starts and four substitute appearances. Though the Reds hit a rough patch in between, with six losses in eight weeks.

However yesterday against Hull City away, the twenty-year-old turned on the style, scoring a hattrick that gave Forest all three points in a close 3-2 win.

His first came on the half hour mark, scoring from distance at the half hour mark with a shot from distance, akin to what Evertonians have gotten used to seeing from Dowell over the years, including two for the senior side this preseason.

The second goal put Forest up by two at 71 minutes in, with a left-footed snapshot from just inside the box. Dowell then slotted a penalty with just half a dozen minutes to play to complete his hat trick and get the game winner too.

Dowell is on a season-long loan but looks to be gaining valuable playing time at Forest and will be in a much better place to break into the Everton squad next season.
