Leicester beat Everton 2-0 to plunge the Toffees further into the relegation zone with two first half goals.

Like midweek, Everton once again looked bereft of ideas in the first half as their quick thinking hosts hit them repeatedly on the counter attack. While most of the Premier League have learned how to handle Leicester City and over the last few years, Everton evidently are not one of those teams.

Jamie Vardy swept home the opener after just eighteen minutes, and soon after an unfortunate Jonjoe Kenny completely missed his clearance of a Demarais Gray cross, and hooked the ball over Jordan Pickford into the corner of the net.

The Foxes could afford to sit back after that on their two-goal lead, ceding the middle of the pitch in a defensive formation to consolidate their lead. The Blues will count themselves unfortunate to not have had a penalty after a pinpoint through ball found an onrushing Aaron Lennon who was clearly bundled over, but referee Andre Marriner wanted nothing to do with it.
