As if Everton Football Club needed something else to go wrong, it seems that star young midfielder Tom Davies has picked up a knock while away with the England U21 squad.

While things don’t sound overly dire, you never know with these types of injuries - hamstrings can be easily aggravated, and it’s good that Davies is heading back to Finch Farm for assessment.

Still only 19, Tom Davies is a regular in the Everton side, particularly under the leadership of David Unsworth. Merseyside born and bred, the teenager possesses bundles of talent and may even break into the senior England team before long.

Fortunately, Everton are well covered in case Davies has to miss any time. Davy Klaassen could use the youngster’s injury as a route back into the squad, while Muhamed Besic is also available in midfield to go along with Gylfi Sigurdsson, Idrissa Gueye, Beni Baningime, and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Get well soon, Tom!
