Everton hope to conclude some early business on Deadline Day with the capture of winger Nikola Vlasic from Hajduk Split.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Vlasic flew into Manchester late on Wednesday ahead of a medical this morning.

Should the medical go smoothly then a deal should be confirmed later today.

The Toffees agreed a fee with Hajduk two days ago believed to be in the region of £8m, with fresh reports claiming the deal could rise to £10m.

Vlasic was given permission to leave the Croatia U21 squad in order to complete his move to Goodison Park.

The 19-year-old impressed Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman during Hajduk’s Europa League play-off tie against Everton.

Vlasic has 12 goals and 20 assists in 112 senior appearances for Hajduk, who he joined at age 12.

The winger also has 29 Croatian youth international appearances, scoring three goals, and made his senior debut against Mexico in May.

Vlasic’s arrival would represent the first of three targets wanted by Koeman and Walsh on deadline day.

A left-sided defender and, most urgently, a striker are also needed before the day is out if Everton are to have a balanced squad heading into the autumn.
