Did Dan Meis drop an Everton stadium capacity hint?

Architect Dan Meis certainly gets around quite a bit. When he’s not at the sites of one the many stadiums he has built around the world, he is traveling to look at other ones he didn’t build to get ideas for his future work, one of which is going to be Everton’s next home for another century.

After documenting his thought process recently on how he envisions the new venue to rise out of the water at the Bramley-Moore docks, he is today at the new home of the NFL team the Minnesota Vikings, the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Messaging on social media from the arena as the game started, Meis sent what might be a cryptic message to Evertonians worldwide.

Now, the capacity of the new stadium has been an ongoing topic of discussion for Blues, as many have requested that the capacity be raised from the current 38-thousand-odd to a larger number.

The season tickets for Goodison Park are capped and regularly sell out for the last few years, with the Blues allocating larger and larger numbers to additional sections like youth of different age groups.

A larger stadium with more capacity would also enable the construction of more corporate hospitality boxes that would bring in additional sponsorship, but would also keeping with Meis’ vision of having towering vertical stands that put the fans right on top of the action.

We’ll await for official confirmation of course, but for now we’re excited to see that a higher capacity is in consideration for the Toffees’ future home.
