Everton take on Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday at Goodison Park, and manager Ronald Koeman spoke to the media ahead of the game in his pre-match press conference.

Senegalese striker Oumar Niasse has been frozen out of the Everton setup since the arrival of Koeman at Everton, ending up with the Under-23s before being loaned out for the second half of the season to Hull City.

However, with Everton failing to make any other striker signings during the summer transfer window, it appears there is a way back for the player.

Koeman said today regarding the forward -

While the forward didn’t necessarily set the Premier League alight when he first arrived at Goodison Park, he has put his head down and worked his butt off without talking too much about his situation.

Everton’s treatment of the player has been odd at times, with Niasse not even being given a locker in the dressin rooms at Finch Farm, and having to train with the Under-23s, but to his credit he has not been one to complain about his situation.

Here’s hoping he gets a fair shot at proving himself this season.
