West Ham v Liverpool - Story of the match

Liverpool romped to a 4-1 win at West Ham

Slaven Bilic's future as West Ham boss was once again thrown into doubt after a 4-1 home defeat by Liverpool.

Quickfire first-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip saw the hapless Hammers booed off at the interval.

Manuel Lanzini pulled one back in the second half but less than a minute later Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain extinguished their hopes of a comeback before Salah hit an exquisite fourth.

"Why are Joe Hart and Mark Noble laughing as Liverpool score their 3rd goal!!!!" Former Hammer - and Red - Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) is not impressed with the attitude of a couple of West Ham players.

Star man - Mohamed Salah.

The striker led started and ended the move for Liverpool's opener and once again looked a class act whenever the ball was at his feet. Made Liverpool tick in the final third and scored a fine second to wrap up the scoring.

Moment of the match

The devastating counter-attack which turned a West Ham corner into a Liverpool goal in about 10 seconds flat. Sadio Mane led the charge before squaring the ball for Salah, who had the simple task of rolling it past Joe Hart.

View from the bench

Mane was a surprise inclusion in the Liverpool starting line-up despite manager Jurgen Klopp saying 24 hours earlier that he could probably play for 25 minutes. Certainly the hamstring was not bothering him in the slightest as he hared the length of the pitch for the opener.
