No doubting Man City's eye watering amounts spend this season. I wouldn't expect anything less this season but the Premier League and on those spending figures the Champions League as well. When the costs go up like that the bare minimum for a team like City is to play good football something Mourinho can't be trusted to do on the evidence of the past 15 years or so. Given Man Utd's history in the game, and indeed spending figures that considerably outrank the next spender below them, I think a lot more would be expected from them on a footballing front.
