Still haven't watched The Sopranos (yes, I know   ) I just don't seem to be able to get into it.

Still haven't watched The Wire. (Not sure where I can get it)

I keep getting distracted by second rate Sci-Fi like The Expanse, Killjoys, and now more Marvel stuff like The Defenders, but I still haven't seen Jessica Jones. I liked Luke Cage, was underwhelmed by Daredevil, and Iron Fist was a bit, well, lets just say the Marvel writers weren't the A team

An idea might be to take The Wire and The Soprano's on a memory stick and a lightweight laptop, and watch them each evening when walking the Camino next year.
Then I won't have any choice

      Yeah, you should do.

Some people find The Wire difficult to get into. It doesn't ease you into the story like other programmes do, and there's loads of different characters as well. Season two gets bad reviews sometimes but I'd say that's largely down to how different it is from the first season.

      I would have

      The Wire
      Sopranos
      Breaking Bad

Game of Thrones is good and would be in my Top 10.

No, think we are on episode 5 of season 2. It depicts the type of seedy people that are so common to Florida. It's spot on in that sense.

Despite those seedy folk Bloodline still has me wanting to live in the Keys. ;D

Season 2 gets better with repeat viewing and works better as part pf the whole story, once you know it, or at least it did on my second re-watch.

Just started Grimm, really good opening episode, though the effects range from ropy to brilliant.

And a quick bit about The Sopranos, overall I enjoyed it, but for half a season, about midway through, it started to feel like it was a parody of itself, but it recovered. Doesn't hit my top 10,but then I'm a little odd and so's my top 10 list, Boston Legal still, by far, my number one.

Yeah, Ziggy's a boss character as well. Most of them are to be fair, the only one I really didn't like was Brother Mouzone. He was almost cartoonish in his ways.

      Got

Best scene of the series, and maybe the entire show, is Arya fighting Brienne imo
      Brilliant show.

Dunno mate, that final scene of season 7 was pretty epic. Although I am rooting for Arya to complete her list, she's fantastic to watch. I though her travels with the Hound were brilliant and something tells me these two will meet again in more fortunate circumstances.

Whole show has just taken things to a whole new level though, there's a great follow up after each episode on Joe.co.uk which explains things you might have missed and to be fair I probably miss 80%+ of them. The depth of this story is staggering, to me it's as if they've written it backwards because of the intricate detail how things are woven in the design so neatly requires not just forethought and an idea but exact detail and knowledge. Either that or they were written and then re-written many times.

Captivating, really hope they have some spin-offs, I'm a total addict of the show.

Edit: Just read this and gave me a laugh:

Don't worry you'll get plenty of spin offs. There's loads of material for it and HBO will love being able to cast some new actors and not have to pay the current crop the astronomical episode fees they're splashing out now. It'll still get ratings and will become massively profitable for them again.

As for the depth, most of it comes from the world GRRM created. If you think the show is deep, go get lost in the books.

Glad to hear it mate and I will most definitely read the books, wanted to get to the end of the TV series first.

Anyone watching Mr Mercedes? Hasn't been picked up in the UK yet, only in the US.

Very good so far, Brendan Gleeson one of the main characters.

The TV series is ahead of the books now, and F**k knows when Winds Of Winter is coming out.

Loads and loads of depth that you don't get in the TV series, different plots, storylines etc make them well worth a read.
You won't get any spoilers from them.

Finished watching the whole of season 3 of Narcos last night, absolutely superb. It just focuses on the last six months of the Cali cartel. Definitely going to be a fourth season, although I think they will make that about Mexico.

Read all three books being a king fan, books 1 & 2 were excellent but the third not so much, will have to track this down as the last two TV mini series that have been adapted from kings novels  under the dome & 11.22.63 were great esspecially 11.22.63.

Have never watched even one episode, so I'll have to take your word for it. Doesn't interest me in the least.

Didn't think it would interest me either to be honest - I'm not into Lord of the Rings and that kind of stuff - gave this a go and was hooked pretty instantly.

Oh you and me both Si. Although his week isn't a good week to be there.

The keys are such a unique place. A little hippie, a little redneck, a little crazy. I love it.

See I do like LOTR and such. Just figured GoT was like that but with explicit sex.
