      Can't help but think that we've given up on him for a while hence the Keita signing. Would love to have both players though.

      Doesn't that depend on whether or not HE wants to stay? If he's decided to leave us then there's F**k all we can do about it other than bench him, he's not that good that we desperately need him.

      Let me get this straight,  refuse to sell him for 23m, buy Ox for 40m... That is 63 million that could have gone towards Lemar. 58 million if it meant keeping lucas for another year until we got Kieta.
      We could have sold him for 23m, at least the Ox signing would have made more sense.
      None of this makes sense at all.

      Echo said a while ago;

      Negotiations broke down before Christmas but Can, who was the Reds’ match-winner against Burnley on Sunday, is adamant that wasn’t as a result of his £100,000 per week wage demands.

      He obviously demanded 100k a week. It is about that.

      Had no idea his contract only has a year left. Who let that happen? I don't particularly think he's the bees knees or anything (he's improving although can definitely be replaced) but if you're going to let him go, get some dough!

      I'm with you -- Jürgen should always be attempting to put our best 11 on the pitch.
      However, I'm far from convinced Emre is or ever will be a top CM.  He's been much improved the last 6 months, but he's still got a long way to go.  If he was staying, I'd be happy for Jürgen to continue working on his development.  If he's already got 1 foot out the door, then pull him out the side and give the minutes to Ox, Grujic, Woodburn, etc.  I think Can has been the beneficiary of the good work of others more so than singularly impressive himself.

      Been fantastic to start the season.

      But i still don't understand why he doesn't release the ball earlier instead of taking a touch, inviting pressure and trying to out-muscle his man. He's always a double-team away from conceding possession and exposing our defence while our fullbacks push up.

      Anyone else see/feel this?

      100% this. If Emre wants to F**k off, let him go but he is benched or in the reserves till January. Give more time to Grujic who I think is going to be something very special for us.

      Guys don't worry about it, we already have his replacement: Keita will be ours next year, Grujic a year older and Alex can play there as well and obviously we have Henderson and Wijnaldum.

      We're more than covered.

      If he plays well, continue to play him, if not put him on the bench.

      I had already got that vibe off you about him!

      However, it's a shocking state of affairs if we're letting a young central midfielder go to Juventus for nothing.  Something has gone badly wrong there with LFC's assessment of the situation.
