      Short memories lad.

He did absolutely pocket the in form Lukaku in the last derby as he did Zlatan and Costa in the respective games.

So are you hinting he has a concentration problem and can only get himself focused for big games?

Appreciate your point but 3 games mentioned. In the others he played how many basic fook ups did he make

A lot actually too many for my liking.

But to say he's never had a good game is incorrect. He has had them but they have been too far and in between not frequent enough to be considered world class.

      I'm just read this : https://www.thisisanfield.com/2017/09/dejan-lovren-reveals-underlying-injury-problems-plaguing-liverpool-campaign/

Maybe now it's better to put Gomez at CB alongside Matip. IF it's me I also ask Milner to train playing right FB.

We all need pills to watch him play, on a serious note it is very concerning

Didn't think Dejan was having as bad a time of it as that. Probably needs a long rest .. which he's not gonna get.

We're in a good position though, and did nothing in the summer, cause there's nobody out there that would improve things back there. Phew...

'I TAKE FIVE PILLS BEFORE EVERY GAME' - LOVREN REVEALS INJURY TORMENT

The Croatia international has revealed that he has back and Achilles problems that are forcing him to take painkillers before he plays.
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is in so much pain with injuries he is taking five pills to be able to play.
The Croatia international has played eight games this season despite being hampered by a back injury, but his fitness problems have worsened.
Lovren revealed he now has an Achilles issue that could keep him out of his country's decisive World Cup qualifiers with Finland and Ukraine.

"I have problems for the last two weeks with my whole body, it hurts," the 28-year-old told Sportske Novosti.
"I have problems with my back...and now I have hurt my Achilles tendon.
"I play, but I'm not training at all. I can't train. The biggest problem is my back. That's why I skipped the matches against Manchester City and Burnley in the Premier League.
"I have big problems with the left side of my body. I'm taking pills so I can play. I take five pills before every game."

Croatia lead their qualifying group for next year's World Cup on goal difference ahead of Iceland, with Turkey and Ukraine two points behind.
Despite his problems, Lovren has been picked for their final pair of qualifiers.

"I told him [Croatia coach Ante Cacic] my state," added Lovren.
"All this time I'm playing under tablets. It's not normal to have four or five tablets before each game. I wanted to play, the coach put me in the team, but it is not good.
"I'm worse and worse. For a long time, it makes no sense."

No wonder all the brainfarts, the bloke is constantly high!

Poor fella, that can't be good.

"Not training at all" and I bet Matip misses a few training sessions to - there goes that defensive consistency.

Roost & Chickens spring to mind.

Curiously, why we have many back injuries since the summer ? Too many Klopp hug I guess.

Must be all those powerful headed clearances he does from opposition corners.

Had a good game for Croatia last night kept Jarmolenko fairly quiet.

Let's hope it will give him a confidence boost and put his head in the right frame for Saturday.

The capability for this lad to play really really well is glaringly obvious, he has everything needed for a front foot centre half out of the top drawer aside from extreme pace. It's in between his ears where there's a problem, if he lobs his empty milk carton towards the bin and it misses before he leaves home, it's enough to send him into a tailspin. Maybe tries too hard or something, f*** knows.

We do know though that if that milk carton goes in without touching the sides, he can put Lukaku in his pocket for the full 90 and you won't hear a squeek out of the big Belgian. If it bounces off the rim on the other hand, he could get terrorised.

Damage was done by then though, but at least he wasn't as stubborn this time.

Klopp was being kind on Dejan to get to even 30 minutes.

Will take a long time to digest just how horrific that was.

Said it 3 years ago no idea what he is doing at the club.

No doubt he will be given an improved extended contract.

Klopp is measured in his post match with Sky but reading between the lines I think he's done with Dejan, he couldn't believe the decisions he made for those first 2 goals

Big dent in his LFC career today. One of the real lowlights.
Not just the performance, but getting subbed off sooo early.
Will need to be mentally strong to get past this..

Stopped watching after half time. Did pundits or commentators say anything as to why Dejan went off? Was it just because of his GOD awful defending? If so that has to be the final straw hasn't it?

He's so mentally weak I'd be surprised if he can turn up for training. Not through embarrassment but for fear he has to be near a football again.

Sad thing is that I never want to see him start for us again but I don't have enough faith in Klavan to suggest he'd be better. Has to be Gomez now, accept he's young and accept the mistakes for him will be a learning curve rather than the consistent mess that Lovren serves up.

Spoke to a Saints fan about a week ago and we were talking about all the signings we've made from them and he was gutted about Mane and Lalllana of course but predictably said that he could never believe that we paid so much (at the time) for such a poor CB. Now I never watched him for Saints but he clearly did and with great passion and said he was awful for them, I know some say on here that he was very good at that time but that's now Lyon fans that said he was god awful, Saints fans and now us it seems. Surely we just accept that despite the occasional good game, he is just god awful.
