Dont think he has his own thread, but good run out for the lad today.  Good to see him getting some time with the first team.

Thought he got a bit of a mauling poor lad but improved as the match went on or maybe Saints had given up by then.

Signed a new contract today, keeping him at the Club till summer 2019.

Congrats Connor on the new deal.

Far from good enough I'm afraid. Think he's in the Darren Potter/John Welsh class of players who would struggle to make an impact in the Championship in all honesty.

We seem to have produced more British fullbacks at our club that aren't good enough than any other position.
      The list is long.

Sad but true. He's too slow and not dynamic enough going forward.

It's to be hopes that the young and highly rated Trent Alexander-Arnold provides more able competition to Clyne in the future (much more versatile and has the ability to get forward).

Arnold might make his breakthrough as a full back, but like Gerrard, I can't see that being his long-term position.

Course he's not good enough, he's played 7 senior games in his career.

He has a lot to learn, a lot of developing still to do and of course Jürgen's never been known for developing players, so he's got no chance of making it.

Not everyone has to look like a superstar in their debut season for them to become good enough

I think you still have to show some promise too though Debs. He just doesn't have the physical size, strength or pace for me and those things are hard to put into your game. He's a Stephen Darby type player for me, looked good at a lower level but when he steps up just doesn't cut the mustard. Sure he's only had 7 senior games but at the same time he needs to show something if he's to be given an 8th.

There's only his pace that can't be changed mate.

Look at the strength Origi's achieved compared to last summer by hitting the gym and Connor's bigger than Clyne and Moreno height wise.  Physically and strength wise he can improve.  What can also be improved with experience, good coaching and maturity is his positioning and game intelligence.

In time he may prove he's not good enough but to decide he isn't now, after 7 games, isn't that time.

I hope you're right Debs but I'm not getting my hopes too high for him. He's in a good situation now where there are games that he and others younger players are being given a shot.

Difficult to say after a handful of games so better to judge him this time next season if he gets more games or a loan to a Premier League side.

No offence, but he looks hopeless to me.

He looks to me as though he doesn't give a sh*t and just ambles around jogging most places.

And that's how we should always view our young players after a handful of games mate.

No point putting pressure on them and hyping them up after a couple of good games or running them down after bad ones, it's the nature of the beast that they'll have ups and downs in the early days.

After being out all season with injury and missing out on a potential loan to either Wigan or Preston in the summer, Connor is now in talks with Barnsley for a loan to the end of the season to replace Bree whose fu**ed off to Villa.

Everyone knows that the Sun newspaper isn’t sold in Liverpool following the Hillsborough tradegy.

After Saturday’s match against Kilmarnock, Randall was asked to speak to the press about the performance.

But before the loanee spoke, he asked whether anyone from the Sun was in the room.

When one reporter raised his hand, Randall asked him to leave the room before he’d begin talking.

      Good lad.
