How the hell do you sell 80% of the club to raise capital and accept an offer that was financed purely by loans?

I feel sorry for them if true but i'd still exploit their situation to sign him.

Thats if the details of the article are correct. I think the Times have decent rep in England dont they?

I'm not sure, why don't you ask David Moores ;-)

Very good reputation Croucy, I'd believe it was accurate and somewhat surprising like you say.

If that's not a 'start the bidding now!' signal, I don't know what is.

They used to have a good rep, but since the Murdoch takeover, they have moved further and further right, and dumbed down the sports section.
That said, they are still more reliable than the fail or express.

Are you confusing the Times with the Telegraph, i wouldn't say that The Times is particularly right.

Based on the past seven years,mate... and the feeling I get... It 's all fine and well stating that LFC like to keep their transfer targets a secret as some may assert, but the silence is deafening when you look at the back pages and the transfer newsregarding players coming into the club, and when we sell Coutinho and finally bring in on or two players we were not previously linked with some here will is it as vindication of their argument of LFC keeping transfer targets a secret where as in fact it is merely trying to appease the supporters that FSG has the clubs interest at heart, and not themselves... Saw the same thing for years with Suger at Spurs

Well I can't be sure if you are taking the piss or are just really stupid, do you really not see a difference between a player informing a club he wants to leave in February and one doing it on 11th August??

Your whole argument is about the date a player asks to leave!

The length of a contract doesn't matter

A club wanting to keep there best player doesn't matter

What matters is the date that a player asks to leave

      You really are a dickhead!!!!!!!!

It makes sense why they were adamant he would not be sold - with a takeover in the offing you wouldn't sell him first.

Miss Liebherr didn't want the boat rocked while she cashed in.

What's the matter with your man Bobby at the other end of our spine MIRO?

Ma man is not a regular 20 a season man .
      Yet.

Now Suarez back + 30 million in cash for Couts ... would solve that little conundrum. ;D

he must sell before he signs new players; as they have no additional capital to inject into the club...

      Wow....

If I were. A Southampton fan I'd be livid with that

Livid at owners refusing to put any more, of their own, money into a club they've bought; you say? 🤔

Yeah... I can see that: especially if they sell off their best players to fund transfers.

That said: maybe some Saints fans are total fucktards and they won't notice. 😉

Don't think so as the two bids for Keita were reportedly made last month (when we were all exasperated enough).

Perhaps our owners are waiting for the end of the window.

All my pals have been getting really pissed off and wound up about the lack of transfer activity. And I've been telling them for weeks, nothing will happen till Thursday morning. Hope I'm proved wrong!.The game on Wednesday night is huge. In terms of our season, and potential signings.

Careful now... down with that sort of thing...

When I said that, many moons ago, I got offered a tin-foil hat (metaphorically speaking).

Like I said last week tho'; tin-foil hats seem to have disappeared in favour of flip-flops. 😄
