Lets call him Kia Winebeer then.

I'm conscious that it's probably evident that I have also been drinking.

Remember when Peter Moore said earlier in the week that he wasn't in charge of transfers?

      How very lucky for him!!

Not that lucky, considering the clusterfuck of this summer, he may soon be :D

Yeah he definitely went with the: "I'll take the sh*t for the sleeve sponsor" angle.

      It's not funny.

It's John W Henry's fault I'm pissed. Looked at the W in his name,  pictured it upside down as an M and thought Magners which reminded me I don't like Magners so I went and got some Bulmers.

And here I am chatting sh*t.

“It is about timing. That is how I understand it. And that is all I have to say. Maybe everybody has a price – in the right moment. In the wrong moment? No price.

Agree with the boss right there. This was before the transfer request so I can only imagine how disappointed he will be in the player. Suspect he may have some work to do to repair their relationship. Poor form from Coutinho IMO, whatever you think of our owners.

What a slimy c*nt he is; another leech on the beautiful game. This may go some way to explaining the agitation for a move and it wouldn't surprise me if there are a few other shady characters involved if what we know about Barcelona and transfers  of South Americans are any gauge (Neymar's dad will probably claim he has a stake).

Need to camouflage our best players better.

Teams like Chelsea, Citeh and the like never seem ripe for the picking as much as we do.

Put a stand-out South American in a team, surround him largely with mediocrity (especially midfield & defence) and it just highlights how good a player he is, and the inevitable happens. He becomes like a homing beacon for the Spanish giants.

Surround him in equal quality (midfield and defense in particular), because Mane is a gem, and Salah could be, we'd then start winning trophies and look as strong as Citeh and Chelsea do. Until this happens, chasing our tail is the perfect analogy to our situation.

I would say a perfect analogy of LFC is the FSG version of Santa at Christmas.

One year you want a PS4, or indeed an Xbox, but you get a PS3. No probs, it entertains, it does its job, hell you bloody enjoy it. Then next year Christmas comes along once more, and now you want a few more games for that PS3, you have an idea of what you want, however it all decides on whether or not Santa will deliver. It looks promising, there is no reason why you shouldn't get that what you want, its not down to money after all, you have the main, the PS3 itself, you just need the compliments to go with it. Santa is trying his best to get you what you want however Santas little helpers cannot or will not play ball, your games are not coming, so Santa is trying to get you the parts so he can make you the games you want but it simply isn't happening. After all the snow, and all the letters, that Christmas wish has to be refused, but a lot of effort was put in for those presents you wanted, others missed out, so to make up for that, you now have to lose your PS3. However its not all bad, Santa will know better for next Christmas!

It's because we big up our players before they are even anything. We were calling him world class before he even played 5 world class games a year. I was disappointed he was given our player of the season 2 seasons ago, really wasn't, Milner was. But I think all that adds up to a bigger transfer fee anyway so that's okay, sort of. Bad for the club long term though when that's our practice.

Anyway it's all good because we'll get an absurd amount of money for him and Klopp will put it into the TEAM to find better suited team players. That's the mentality we need to adopt, his way of thinking not the single superstar sh*t we've been trapped in, putting everything on Torres, Suarez, Sterling, Coutinho. Instead of trying to shoehorn Coutinho into his hard working midfield or his wide positions where he needs actual wingers, he can buy guys like Keita and Salah and VvD who will be better for the overall team.

We face exactly the same scenario as with Torres, Suarez and Sterling and very possibly Coutinho.
They abandon LFC for a side capabĺe of winning trophies.

I don't know. Also teams like Chelsea and City have played CL football and challenged for the title more consistently than we have.  This is because they have spent the money to stay there in the first place. The likes of Willian, Hazard or Aguero, who I'm sure Barca/Real have drooled over, seem satisfied where they are.
Well, I was really hoping (for some stupid reason) this transfer season might change this but it seems we are stuck in that old cycle which sees us cheaping out, missing out on silverware and losing our best players.
Losing Couts after the sub-par transfer period (in comparison to the competition) is a huge blow and must be the last red flag to ignite a fecking change and break this cycle of mediocrity.

      Ding dong.

      Exactly.

We've become to Barca, what Southampton have become to us - a feeder club, a selling club.

This is what happens when you spend years out in the wilderness from glory.

Report: Barcelona expected to lodge 3rd bid for wantaway Coutinho
      https://www.thescore.com/news/1349172
      (via http://thesco.re/theScore_app )

3rd bid may exceed £100 million

If it does, we can buy some other super quality player.

Fenway Sport will not sell though.

We do not have to sell. If Coutinho becomes petulant, bench him or send him off to train with the young lads.
