I think Barca wanted to sell Neymar. There have been rumours for a long long time that kept coming up that they were interested in selling one of their star players.  Maybe they needed to balance their books?   I'm thinking if the pressure gets too much, maybe, we should see their cards and say 190m and he is yours!  Pay up or shut up!  If they are looking to profit from the Neymar deal then they will need to knock on other doors.  This is our best player!  You pay a sh*t load to rock our team!

I don't want to sell him this season for definitely, but maybe this could be a good course of action.  When we lost Torres we stumped most of our money for the replacement.  These lot think they are the best team in the world, and in the current operation the absolute biggest operators don't make profit on selling their best players.

Does anyone else think that this was the plan for Barca to sell Neymar for a massive amount of money and then rob someone for a cheaper but similar quality?

Did Suarez miss matches due to transfer disagreements or anything like that? Can't recall, but don't think so.
Am telling myself once he's back playing, will forget about this. And if he plays great, maybe I will. But right now, with us onto our 3rd match and him swinging the lead, pisses me off more than any comments could. Actions speak louder and all that.
Still don't want to sell him, that's just bending over, F**k that, we need him, he's contracted, some stage it'll be water under the bridge.
Would like to see him suffer a little bit though, maybe the lads could blindfold him at training and do a bit of this...

From memory, Suarez supposedly was threatening to down tools to force through the Arsenal move. I don't think it came to him missing any matches though ( cos he was suspended for biting Ivanovich?)

Anyway, the club called his bluff, he backed down, and the following season he was awesome and all was forgotten.
Same again on this one please, FSG.

No, Barcelona didn't want to sell him, when they signed him they made a pact with the devil and are paying for it now

Just to say - getting a central mid and a center back were never supposed to be contingent on on selling Phil or someone else.

      Exactly.

Can't see FSG bidding for an available player ;D we only seem to bid for ones that are not available.

      ^ This.

Because then FSG may have to part with the money. #FSGOUT

Thoroughly pissed off with FSG and Klopp (for saying he is happy with the players he has got).  :f_steam:

If we end up selling Coutinho, any chance we somehow include Rakitic in the deal? Haha

We should be scouting their youth right now. Can we take more than one player?  :-)

Wonder if FSG check intrnet forums. If they do, I guess it will be here and RAWK. I guess sadly after reading in here they'll assume they have the green light to sell him. If he goes I'll quote everybody who sits there fuming at FSG, when they sat there explaining how they'd accept a hamburger, a packet of Cheetos and lift home from the Cinema for Coutinho. Maybe they will even say fans turned against Coutinho so they got rid, good job guys. "Not".

While they are at it, can they also buy Draxler, Vvd and Keita with the money so that you can quote the forum members for that as well ? :)

Barcelona's sporting director Robert Fernandez, says talks are under way with Liverpool over the transfer of Coutinho. He has said this on camera, so someone is telling porkies! If it is Barcelona, I now expect Liverpool to lodge a formal complaint!

More chance of FSG sending out a letter apologising for letting Barca tap up one of our players and we will enter into immediate talks with them.

yes I totally agree, if they are telling lies like this  then I'd be bloody sueing them but the timing might be a bit bad right now

£114m thereabouts, those who thought this wouldn't get to £130m might have to rethink their thoughts.

Slightly different amount, although in the past £4m difference would have been considered considerable, that's the ridiculousness of this window.

Not really Heimy because if you listen to the stories being released Jürgen actually wants to sell this one. I'd be all for cutting them slack if Jürgen was saying don't sell, but I honestly don't believe that is the case.

They were meant to spend a huge amount this summer, they haven't, through whatever reason you want to put forward. Holding on to an asset that is highly unlikely to change in value (remember these guys are investors they know far more than you or I about selling at the right time).

With a world cup on the horizon, PSG having Neymar (in other words having them being told to sign Coutinho), I'm just not sure this is as good as FSG's biggest fans will try to sell.

I'd be far more impressed if they sold him and gave Jürgen all the funds to go and buy who he wants before the window shuts. Sell Cou for whatever and spend Cou fee+ £100m and I'll be applauding FSG, not before.
