The Reds take on Hoffenheim tonight in the first leg of their Champions League play-off, with a spot in the group stages at stake in this tie.

Jürgen Klopp has elected to start with the same side that began Saturday’s draw at Watford here at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena...

Liverpool: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Can, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Karius, Klavan, Gomez, Milner, Grujic, Solanke, Origi.

Hoffenheim: Baumann, Kaderabek, Bicaknic, Rupp, Demirbay, Wagner, Zuber, Hübner, Vogt, Kramaric, Gnabry

Subs: Kobel, Nordtveit, Tolian, Amiri, Uth, Szalai, Geiger

I think we are gonna do them on the counter.

Same team a better result I hope ..

I'm surprised to see an unchanged side, given our excellent squad depth and successful transfer window.

Based on our lineup and the fact that set pieces is one of their plus points im saying 2-2

Klopp with another predictable team then.

I'd have gone with Grujic again, just not convinced at all about that midfield 3. Especially away from home when you think about Gini.

Our defending needs to be so much better than against Watford and I wont lie, I'm nervous we may be heading back to Anfield with a disadvantage. I think, again, our front lads will be excellent and we'll get a couple of goals, just keeping them out I'm not so sure.

2-1 to us, I'd snap your hands off for it right now.

Interesting Robertson doesn't make the bench even, first time I've had cause to question a Klopp signing because if he's not good enough to even make the bench then WTF is the point of that?

Anyway, enough of that, let's get right behind the lads and smash these!

Random team sheet after the weekend performance - we were dire except for a 10 minute spell of brilliance from our front 3.

Has Herr Klopp been on the Schnapps?

I cannot believe Alberto Moreno is going to be our left back this season. This is actually making us a worse side than last season.

Well, anyway, enough of negativity. Come on Reds, we're more than good enough to beat these. As we were discussing in the pre-match thread, time to some of those players to rise up to the occasion and give us a few special European nights this season.

Problem with Robertson Luke is Milner as he will always be on bench first due to being able to play midfield also. Think it will come down to Moreno or Robertson and one wont make the bench at all. Surely cant be a transfer committee signing can it and the big Jürgen is refusing to bow down and play him . Seems very odd Moreno has jumped to top of the spot regardless of his decent pre season performances and thats all they were.

Having seen the line up, can I change my 2-1 prediction...

Good grief, Migs in goal is basically giving them a goal head start, we struggle enough at set pieces, let alone against a team as good as these at them!
Gone with the 3 amigo's in midfield again which is probably as effective as if we were playing Poulsen in there. Hendo and Can can't play together and when Gini is thrown in there too it become a complete disaster. Should have gone for Gruijc in that 3.
Robertson yet again not even making the bench....why did we sign him again? Though, Moreno warrants his start ahead of Milner.

Will be the usual game lads, relying on the front 3 to get us out the sh*t.

Yep I'd have changed 2-3 mate, I would have went with Milner, Grujic & Can with the same front 3, I'm not sure Robertson is up to speed mate in terms of being Klopp fit, hence his exclusion,

Hope Bertie doesn't revert into Bertie fookin Bassett and keeps his wig on,

Massive this is so I'm expecting a marked improvement from Henderson, Can and Gini.

It's a fair point mate and you could well be bang on with that.

Surprising that he's stuck with the same midfield 3. Creativity will be at a premium in there.

And Moreno again. In a vital Cl qualifier. I don't get it.

If klopp had gone with grujic and things went wrong he would be crucified for taking a gamble.

Early to say after 2 gsmes, if it goes on for a while questions will be raised but come on its early for all this.
