Arsenal have always had a certain French flair to them throughout Arsene Wenger's 21 years as manager, and on Saturday the Gallic Gunners achieved a special milestone.

Because when Alexandre Lacazette scored to put the hosts 4-0 up at against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium , it meant that Frenchmen had found the net 500 times for Arsenal in the Premier League.

Twenty-one different players from the country have scored a Gunners goal in the top-flight, dating back to Patrick Vieira's strike in a 2-2 draw against Derby County in December 1996, right up to Lacazette's strike against Palace, which came just nine minutes after Laurent Koscielny had scored Arsenal's 499th "French goal".
