Arsenal are getting desperate in their attempts to land Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners have earmarked the striker as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who joined Manchester United this January transfer window.
Arsenal signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the deal, and Arsene Wenger is keen to start working with the creative Armenian.
But the Gunners are still in need of the firepower Aubameyang would provide, and are looking to do everything they can to land the front man before the window slams shut.
So far Arsenal have made one £44million bid for the forward, but the Bundesliga club are demanding £60million for the Gabon international.
Dortmund are reportedly getting ready to abandon talks, as a result of a lack of progress.
But according to SPORT BILD Arsenal are willing to cough up a lot of cash in order to lure the striker to north London.
Currently, Aubameyang earns around £170,000 per week, but could earn nearly double this, the paper is reporting.
Arsenal have in the past been reluctant to splash the cash on wages, and both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were on £140,000 per week.
Mkhitaryan is believed to be on £60,000 more than this after joining Arsenal, and Aubameyang could be on even more again if the deal gets over the line.
