They are names that will keep the likes of us on our toes and the shirt printing department of Arsenal's club shop busy, but there is no doubting that Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have also got Gunners supporters excited.

The former Borussia Dortmund pair were reunited again on Wednesday, when Arsenal completed a £56m deal for Gabonese forward Aubameyang.

And although Gooners might have been upset to lose the Chilean, that has been more than made up for by the additions of two quality attacking talents who know each other well.

Very well.

Because in their time together on the pitch at Dortmund, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang proved incredibly prolific.

The pair were first united in summer of 2013 when then Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp took Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar Donetsk and Aubameyang from Saint-Etienne.

Given that both were playing in their first season in a new division, a total of 29 goals and 14 assists between them certainly wasn't to be sniffed at as Dortmund finished second.

Mkhitaryan: 13 goals, 10 assists

The following campaign wasn't as smooth for Klopp and his side, but Aubameyang still shone as his reputation as one of the deadliest strikers in Europe continued to blossom.

Mkhitaryan struggled with injury, but still weighed in with goals.

2014/15 (all comps)

Aubameyang: 25 goals, 8 assists

Mkhitaryan: 5 goals, 4 assists

But, with Klopp having left, it was the 2015/16 campaign which really saw both players shine together.

The pair contributed to a staggering 106 strikes over the course of the season either through a goal or an assist.

2015/16 (all comps)

Aubameyang: 39 goals, 12 assists

Mkhitaryan: 23 goals, 32 assists

That was the campaign that earned Mkhitaryan his move to Manchester United in the summer of 2016, with Aubameyang forced to wait another 18 months for his move to the Premier League.

Now, though, they are together again.
