Kevin Prince-Boateng has advised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on how to force through his move to Arsenal.
The Gabonese striker wants the transfer to the Emirates this month after recent disciplinary issues at the Westfalensadion.
He missed last week's Bundesliga clash against Hertha Berlin but Dortmund are holding out for around £60million before they entertain the idea of selling him.
Arsenal have so far been unsuccessful in their bid to sign him but have identified him as their prime target to replace Alexis Sanchez.
And Boateng has advised the softly-softly approach as Aubameyang bids to secure the switch.
“I know him very well, he’s a good friend of mine,” he told Eurosport.
“The most important thing would be to just sit down (with Dortmund) and use clear words – that’s how you bring about some peace.
“But we must not forget what a great player he is and how much he has given to Dortmund.
“It’s wrong, too, that everyone’s piling in on top of him now.”
