Thierry Henry has discussed Arsenal's move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and it seems he's confident the Gabonese forward will be a success.

The Gunners have identified Aubameyang as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who joined Manchester United this transfer window.

Arsenal landed former Red Devils star Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the deal, and Arsene Wenger is keen to start working with the creative Armenian.

But Wenger wants to improve Arsenal's firepower, and believes Aubameyang is the right man to take the club forward going into the business end of the season.

So far Arsenal have made one £44million bid for the forward, but the Bundesliga club are demanding £60million for the Gabon international.

Dortmund are reportedly getting ready to abandon talks, as a result of a lack of progress, which means Arsenal will likely have to eclipse their record spend - £52million on Alexandre Lacazette - to land the forward.

Henry is confident that this would be the right thing to do from an Arsenal perspective however, as the Gabon international will get goals.

Speaking on Sky Sports , the Arsenal legend said: "We're talking about Aubameyang – we don't know if he's going to come or not.

"[But] Aubameyang will bring you goals, runs in behind, and charisma. He would be a good addition to the team."
