Just hours after Arsenal announced the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil ended months of speculation over his future by agreeing to a new Gunners deal.
Ozil's commitment to the club will come as great news to Arsene Wenger and could arguably be his best signing this Janaury.
The German international is set to sign a three year contract with the club which will see him pocket £350,000-a-week.
The 29-year-old's current contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and Ozil was previously linked with following Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.
Ozil of course played under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and a reunion with his former boss was mooted.
However, any notion of a move to Old Trafford has fallen through with Ozil pledging his future to the Gunners.
