Arsenal believe they have reached a £58m deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

They have been trying to thrash out terms with Borussia Dortmund who have been demanding £60m for Aubameyang who is desperate to join the Gunners.

But it is believed Arsenal have gone back with a new approach which includes extra add-ons and the deal will now get done.

Aubameyang, 28, will sign a £180,000-a-week contract to join Arsenal with the deal now nearing completion before Wednesday's deadline.

It leaves Arsenal with a dilemma over Olivier Giroud who is a target for Chelsea after their move for No.1 target Edin Dzeko broke down.

Giroud wants more regular football but Arsenal would want a permanent switch and a deal with Chelsea means selling to a rival.

Dortmund meanwhile will clinch a loan deal for Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi.

Arsenal are also still interested in West Brom's Jonny Evans but will not be going anywhere near the £20m asking price.

Evans can leave West Brom for £3m in the summer if they go down, Arsenal appear to be the only club in the running now and will therefore try to get the deal done cheaper than the asking price.
