Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Yannick Carrasco's situation at Atletico Madrid.

The 24-year-old was a key player for Diego Simeone's side last term but has started just seven matches in La Liga this season.

Atletico have no plans to let Carrasco go but the player is likely to consider his future in the summer if things don't change.

He has been linked with Juventus in the past and Mundo Deportivo report Arsenal are now ready to join the race.

Carrasco is contracted until 2020 at Atletico and has a release clause of around £85million.

The 24-year-old is likely to be in Belgium's World Cup squad and could well use the tournament as an opportunity to find a new club.

Arsene Wenger has brought in Henrikh Mkhitaryan this month after losing Alexis Sanchez but remains a big fan of Carrasco.

He caught Wenger's eye in Atletico's victory over the Gunners in the Champions League in 2015 and the Arsenal boss has kept tabs on his progress since.
