Arsenal are reportedly attempting to pull off a late Deadline Day move for Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.

The 22-year-old is out of contract at Schalke in the summer, and had looked on his way out last summer.

But a change of role has seen him become integral under Domenico Tedesco, and Leon Goretzka's impending exit for Bayern has seen Schalke offer him a new deal.

However, Bild reports that with that deal still unsigned, the Gunners are looking to move in and play on the threat of him leaving the Veltins Arena for cheap in the summer.

Aubameyang arrives

Arsenal have completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.

The striker will sign a three-year deal at the Emirates after making it clear he wanted to leave Borussia Dortmund in a £56m deal.

The 28-year-old was identified by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as his first-choice replacement for Alexis Sanchez who has joined Manchester United.

Aubameyang leaves Germany under a cloud following a string of disciplinary issues in the Bundesliga.

Mesut Ozil is set to sign a new three year contract at Arsenal.

Ozil, 29, has agreed a new £350,000-a-week deal after months of negotiations between Arsenal and the Germany midfielder's representatives.

Arsenal say the deal is not yet signed but expect it to be announced and confirmed within the next few days.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said earlier this month he was confident that Ozil would re-sign and he would stay at the Emirates.
