Borussia Dortmund are making contingency plans for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's transfer to Arsenal.

Dortmund are reportedly looking at Sevilla front man Wissam Ben Yedder as a potential replacement for Aubameyang.

As it stands, no deal has been agreed between Dortmund and Arsenal for Aubameyang's signature, but talks are expected to ramp up ahead of deadline day next week.

The Bundesliga club are only likely to allow Aubameyang to leave if they can secure a replacement in time for the end of the January transfer window.

And Il Messaggero are reporting that Ben Yedder has been identified as the primary target if the Arsenal switch edges closer.

Meanwhile, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has hinted the Aubameyang transfer saga could go right to the wire.

Arsenal have made one £44million bid for the Gabon international but Dortmund are demanding £60million for the forward.

Dortmund are also keen on signing Olivier Giroud as part of the deal, and it seems Arsenal are open to the idea of selling.

But Wenger has confirmed that the France international will be in Arsenal's squad for their Premier League clash with Swansea - the day before the window slams shut.

He added that Giroud will not be going anywhere until they have signed another striker, meaning the most likely outcome - a swap deal - could take place on deadline day.

"I want Olivier to stay," Wenger told the press on Friday. "I just told you if nobody comes in nobody goes out.

"Maybe one or two young players out on loan somewhere. Experienced side of the squad will remain the same unless someones comes in."

On Arsenal's pursuit of Aubameyang, the Gunners boss added: "I cannot tell you more. We've nothing to announce today and at the moment we stay where we are.

"We have added [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan, lost Alexis and our squad is stable. If anything else happens I'd say I don't know. It's still possible but we're far from being close."
