Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to walk away from talks involving the acquisition of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.

Dortmund had been keen on taking Giroud to the Westfalenstadion to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is determined to force through a move to north London.

But talks have hit a snag, according to the Daily Mail, with the two clubs at an impasse over Giroud.

Giroud is reportedly assessing other options as he bids for more regular football ahead of the summer's World Cup.

Arsenal have identified Aubameyang as their prime target as they bid to replace the goals lost by selling Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

Aubameyang has established himself as one of Europe's premier marksmen over the last few years and has 21 goals so far this term.
