Mesut Ozil has been spotted arriving for Arsenal training after agreeing a new £350,000 per week contract to commit his future to the Emirates.

The Gunners were set to lose the German for nothing this summer, but appear set to tie down the 29-year-old on a new-and-improved, long-term contract.

Arsenal have revealed the deal is not signed yet, but expectations are that it will be announced in a matter of days.

Arsene Wenger therefore looks set for another huge move having reacted superbly in the market to losing Alexis Sanchez.

After taking Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return from Manchester United as part of the Sanchez deal, Arsenal added Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on deadline day.

The Borussia Dortmund star becomes their club record signing at £57m, adding to an already potent attack that includes Alexandre Lacazette.

Ozil appears to be the key to a promising future for Arsenal though and despite interest from Barcelona and Manchester United, has been convinced to front a new era at the club.

Attention will now turn to Jack Wilshere, another player out of contract in the summer, though the academy product is believed to be eager to extend.
