Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has agreed to join Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, according to reports.

The Frenchman has endured a tough season at the Bernabeu, scoring just two goals in La Liga with Barcelona opening up a 19-point gap between the sides.

That has led to speculation that Los Blancos want a new No.9, with Benzema aware he may need to find a new home.

Despite a torrid spell in front of goal, the 30-year-old would be welcomed at the Emirates and reports from Spain now suggest he has an agreement with Wenger - who has been on the trail of the former Lyon star for years.

Even though the player and manager have an agreement, the Gunners are reportedly well short of what Real would accept to sell the striker.

The Gunners will part with £35m, yet Real want a massive £52.3m to give the move the green light.

It is a similar fee to that paid for another former Lyon hit man, Alexandre Lacazette, four years Benzema's junior.

Yet the calibre of Benzema, a proven goalscorer at the highest level, make Real's valuation reasonable.
