Vikings DE Everson Griffen was as stunned as the rest of us over last-second win vs. Saints

You can’t blame him!

Much like the rest of us, Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen needed needed a few minutes to even know how he felt about his team’s thrilling last-second divisional win over the Saints on Sunday.

“I’m happy. I was sad. Now I’m like — wow,” Griffen said, struggling to even come up with words to describe his reaction to the game-winning touchdown.

Stefon Diggs caught a pass from Case Keenum and took it 61 yards for a score as time expired. It gave the Vikings a 29-24 advantage and their first playoff win since the 2009 postseason.

“I — oh, my goodness,” Griffen continued. “I’m shocked. I don’t know what else to say.”

Griffen took a minute to celebrate with his teammate, defensive end Brian Robison, who is the only Vikings player who was on the roster the last time the team won a postseason game.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson accidentally got pulled into the celebration, too. But surely she understands what a big moment this was for the Vikings — big enough that it left Griffen just about speechless.
