Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 10: What to do with Ted Ginn

Ginn has been on a little hot streak lately. We break down the fantasy implications.

The New Orleans Saints signed wide receiver Ted Ginn in the offseason mainly to serve as a clear-out deep threat, with Michael Thomas and Willie Snead set as the top two starters. However, Ginn has played a bigger role than expected with Snead suspended and injured most of the season, and he’s been productive of late.

Over the past four games, Ginn has 17 catches for 334 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, he’s averaging 17.1 yards per catch, which would be an impressive career high for the veteran speedster.

Fantasy impact: Ginn will never be noted for his catching ability, but he still has good wheels at age 32 and has settled into a comfortable role in the Saints’ offense. He’s still a little hit-and-miss, but Drew Brees is feeding him targets, putting him firmly on the WR3 borderline.

That said, Ginn will have a stiffer matchup this week when the Saints play the Buffalo Bills, whose defense is giving up the eighth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. Ginn’s big-play ability gives him tantalizing upside most weeks, and fantasy owners should know his risk factor by now. He’s worth using in bye week crunches.

Recommendation: Start if you’re desperate
