Fantasy implications of Jalen Ramsey starting for Jaguars vs. Cardinals

The Jaguars cornerback said he did not expect to play in Week 12, but reports have him playing. We break down the fantasy football implications

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks on hand in Week 12, as Jalen Ramsey is expected to play against the Arizona Cardinals. Ramsey suffered a hand injury during Friday’s practice, and at the time said he would not play on Sunday. However, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting he will play.

Fantasy implications: Cardinals quarterback Blaine Gabbert is not a regular consideration to start, but he put together a solid performance in Week 11. He threw for 257 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions against the Houston Texans. Facing a Ramsey-less Jaguars defense offered some upside. Even a limited Ramsey is a big addition to that defense.

This also offers considerable value for owners of the Jaguars defense. The big money will be from sacks as the Jaguars could get to Gabbert with regularity. But Ramsey’s expected active status increases the chances for a turnover or two to boost your expectations.
