Sterling Shepard injury update: How to handle the Giants WR vs. Cowboys

The Giants welcome back Eli Manning to the starting lineup in Week 14. That could bode well for Sterling Shepard.

The New York Giants face off against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14, and after a week and a half of craziness, they will welcome back Eli Manning to the starting lineup. The Giants’ skill positions have been ravaged by injury, but they should have wide receiver Sterling Shepard available.

Shepard suffered a hamstring injury this past week that cost him Wednesday’s practice session. However, he got back on the field for limited workouts on Thursday and Friday. He appears to be a game-time decision, but getting back on the field suggests he should be able to play in week 14.

Fantasy Impact: Shepard was able to salvage a decent day last week with quarterback Geno Smith, snagging a 47-yard reception to finish the day with 56 yards. The return of Eli Manning represents a clear upgrade for Shepard. Against the San Francisco 49ers two weeks ago, Shepard had 11 receptions for 142 yards. Against the Los Angeles Rams the week before that, he had five receptions for 70 yards.

If Shepard is active, as expected, he is worth starting against a Cowboys defense that gives up the third most fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
