Fantasy Football start/sit advice Week 4: What to do with Jordan Howard on ‘Thursday Night Football’

Despite battling a shoulder injury, Howard’s fantasy stock is stronger than ever.

Jordan Howard has been banged up early this season, but that is not slowing down the Chicago Bears starting running back much. Playing with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder, Howard ran all over the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday. The sophomore rusher carried the ball 23 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns and caught a perfect five-for-five passes for 26 yards in the Bears’ Week 3 win.

Howard’s shoulder is still a concern for the Bears. He looked to be visibly in pain at points during the game and was slow to get up after hits in the second half. The Bears do not have Howard on their Week 4 injury report. They expect Howard to produce at full capacity against their division rivals Green Bay Packers Thursday night. The Packers defense is currently ranked 21st in the league against the run.

Fantasy impact: Howard reestablished his role as the workhorse in Chicago Sunday. His 28 touches were more than his Week 1 and 2 touch total combined. Tarik Cohen is still going to work into the running game a lot, but owners should feel good about what they saw from Howard Sunday. This week, Howard should have another high-volume carry game.

Recommendation: Start
