This photo of Charles Barkley, Muggsy Bogues, Nirvana, and RuPaul on ‘SNL’ is pure ’90s nostalgia

So good!

Muggsy Bogues posted a photo on Wednesday that I’m still thinking about, so let’s talk about it.

This nostalgia bomb comes from the season premiere of Saturday Night Live in 1993. Charles Barkley was the guest host, Nirvana was the musical act — and RuPaul and Muggsy Bogues appeared in sketches.

It just brings a giant smile to your face looking at this. Chuck was coming off an MVP season with the Phoenix Suns, Muggsy played one of his best seasons with the Hornets in a year he teamed up with Dell Curry, Larry Johnson, and Alonzo Mourning — while Nirvana were on top of the world two years removed from the release of Nevermind. Dave Grohl is so babyfaced you can’t even believe it’s him.

Don’t overlook RuPaul in this photo either. She released her album Supermodel of the World in 1993 that had three songs make the dance charts in the U.S. and U.K.

In short: It was an incredible year for every single person in this photo and a rare moment captured in time.

But why stop the nostalgia there? Let’s check in on the SNL cast from this episode.

Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, David Spade, and Mike Myers were the heavy hitters. It was the first episode that Sarah Silverman was on during her brief run, and Norm Macdonald was doing “Weekend Update.” It wasn’t the zenith of the early ’90s SNL casts that featured Dana Carvey, Chris Rock, and Jan Hooks, but darn if it wasn’t good.

This photo brings back so many memories.
