Premier League odds 2017: Manchester City slight favorite over Chelsea for weekend

Two of the English Premier League's top clubs clash this Saturday as Chelsea hosts Manchester City, while Manchester United takes on Crystal Palace.

Manchester City and Chelsea have had an extremely evenly matched rivalry against each other in recent years, both going 10-10-3 against the other in the last 23 matches in this head-to-head series. That rivalry will get another chapter this Saturday when Chelsea hosts Manchester City.

Chelsea is a going off at +165 at home at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The defending English Premier League champions started their season off with a disastrous result in a 3-2 loss at home to Burnley FC, but have returned to form since then with an 4-0-1 record over their last five games. A win over Manchester City would re-establish Chelsea as a major threat to defend its title.

Manchester City, the -110 favorite on the EPL championship odds, destroyed Crystal Palace 5-0 last Saturday, improving to 5-0-1 on the season with 21 goals scored and just two goals surrendered. City is a slight favorite at +155 to win with draw odds going off at +245.

Things don't get any easier for Crystal Palace this week, following up their 5-0 shellacking on the road against Manchester City with another road game against Manchester United. Manchester United is still undefeated with a 5-0-1 record and is a massive -600 favorite in this match. Crystal Palace (+1900 to win, +600 to force a draw) is 0-6 and has been outscored 13-0 so far this year.

Tottenham (-280) is 2-0-1 in its last three matches in league play and currently sits in the fourth position on the EPL table with 11 points. Huddersfield Town (+750 to win, +365 to draw) isn't far behind with nine points and a 2-1-3 record. The two teams clash in Huddersfield this Saturday, meeting for the first time since 1972.

In the top match of three played this Sunday, Liverpool (-150) is on the road taking on Newcastle United (+390 win, +295 draw). Liverpool's 11 goals surrendered are the worst among any team in the Top 13 on the table, but their 12 goals for is tied with Chelsea for third best behind Manchester City and Manchester United. Newcastle owns a 3-3 record through its first six matches while Liverpool is 3-1-2.
