Harry Kane made it eleven goals and counting for the month of September with a perfect hat-trick in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over APOEL in the Champions League.

The 24-year-old, who started the month with no goals in all competitions before bagging a brace with England, has been in red-hot form and added to his two European goals with a first treble of the season in Cyprus.

After some nervy moments in the early stages, when the hosts frustrated Spurs with a strike hitting Lloris’ bar, Kane was afforded his first chance thanks to some poor defending and – with a cool finish – handed Maurico Pochettino some breathing room at the break.

Following the interval, Spurs had to endure some more scares as APOEL looked for a leveller.

However, after weeks of pundits stating that he must produce in the Champions League to be considered amongst Europe’s best, Kane fired home another smark finish to double the lead before, with just his third effort on target, heading home from Kieran Trippier’s cross to put the result beyond their hosts.

With Real Madrid comfortably beating Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Spurs stand alongside the Galacticos with six points, while both Dortmund and APOEL are stuck on zero.
