Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is convinced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wil remain at the club this summer.
Chelsea have set their sights on the England international as Antonio Conte attempts to add up to four further signings after an opening day defeat to Burnley highlighted a lack of depth in his squad.
Standard Sport understands the clubs are in talks over a deal for the player and the Blues are increasingly confident that a £35million deal can be agreed.
Oxlade-Cahmberlain has just one year remaining on his current deal at Emirates Stadium and talks have stalled over extending that deal with the player uncertain of a regular first-team spot in a World Cup year.
Asked if he is adamant Oxlade-Chamberlain will stay at Arsenal, Wenger said: "Yes.
"I rate him highly, he is one of the players who is on his way up and has made huge progress. Personally, I want him to stay here for a long time."
