Arsene Wenger will face no action from The Football Association after his comments regarding Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling.

Standard Sport understands that the Arsenal boss will escape disciplinary action despite claiming that Sterling ‘dives well’ after the England international won a penalty for Pep Guardiola’s side on their way to a 3-1 win over the north Londoners on Sunday.

Wenger took exception to two decisions from the officials at The Etihad, as well as Sterling’s penalty won under challenge from Nacho Monreal, the Frenchman complained that City’s third goal was not ruled out of offside.

Speaking after the game, Wenger told BBC Sport: "I believe it was no penalty. It was a provoked penalty by Sterling. We know that he dives well - he does that very well.

"You can accept it if City win in a normal way, they are a good side, but the way it happened is unacceptable."

The lack of action from the governing body means Wenger will be in the dugout when Arsenal host Tottenham after the international break.
