West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has said he is open to letting Robert Snodgrass leave the club this summer, so long as the deal suits the club.

Speaking ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle this weekend, the Croatian said: “If [Snodgrass] wants a new challenge or whatever, OK. We still have one week to go but only if the deal suits us [Snodgrass will go] and we have enough players.”

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has revealed he is hoping to engineer a deal for the midfielder, with whom he worked at Hull, and has revealed that discussions have begun.

When asked if he was whether or not he was interested in a deal, Bruce said: "We’ve had the conversations. But it’s not just a done deal yet. He will add that bit of sparkle, if you like, up front.

"He can play in any position across the front line and is a very good player, let’s hope we can do something.

"I had the pleasure to work with him, very briefly, at Hull.

"He’s got all of the stuff you talk about, experience, quality, in abundance. He’s been there, done it and got the t-shirt.

"It hasn’t quite worked out for him at West Ham. We’re trying our best to get it over the line but it hasn’t quite happened yet.”

Since making the move to the London Stadium, Snodgrass has made 15 appearances for Bilic’s side and is yet to score a goal, registering just two assists.
