Brighton look set to turn to Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown amid a striker crisis ahead of Sunday’s visit to Arsenal.

Seagulls manager Chris Hughton is facing a major headache with Tomer Hemed set to miss three-matches for a stamp on Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin, though Brighton are contesting the FA charge.

Hughton’s other strikers, Glenn Murray (ankle) and Sam Baldock (calf), are both out, meaning 20-year-old Brown may find himself redeployed in his first appearance since recovering from a hamstring injury.

“What we always wanted and what you need, certainly at this level, is options,” Hughton told reporters.

“At this moment we are fortunate that Tomer is doing it, but he is also staying fit.

“The other option is Izzy Brown, who has only just come back from injury and who really is a number ten.”

Brown has not played as a central striker since an FA Cup tie against Port Vale for Huddersfield in January, though he did find himself in the position more often whilst on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.
