Alvaro Morata has revealed he is working hard to be fit in time for Chelsea's trip to Crystal Palace following the international break after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Chelsea striker was forced off in the first half of the Blues' 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, with Antonio Conte later revealing the Spaniard sustained a muscular problem and asked to be substituted off as a precaution.

Morata subsequently travelled to Madrid to undergo tests on the issue by the Spanish national team's medical staff, which revealed a grade two hamstring injury.

But Morata has suggested the injury isn't as bad as feared after returning to Chelsea's training base in Cobham and saying he is working hard to make the visit to Selhurst Park on Saturday 14 October.

Next to a picture of himself smiling, Morata wrote on Twitter and Instagram on Tuesday: "I have no time to lose! Working hard towards recovery!"

He has since deleted the post on Twitter although his version on Instagram remains. Should Morata recover in time for the game at Selhurst Park, it will be a huge boost for Conte as the striker has already scored six Premier League goals this season.
