Christian Eriksen believes Tottenham haven't had any luck when playing rivals Chelsea at Wembley in recent months.

Mauricio Pochettino's side hosted their first league game at their temporary Wembley home on Sunday as they welcomed Antonio Conte's champions to the ground.

Despite Chelsea fielding a weakened side, and having lost their opening game of the new season against Burnley a week earlier, it was the Blues who walked away from the clash with all three points courtesy of a Marcos Alonso brace.

The result was a similar one to four months ago when Chelsea came to Wembley off the back of a 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United and beat Tottenham 4-2 in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

And Eriksen has bemoaned Spurs' lack of luck at the stadium, insisting the north Londoners should have secured at least a point against Chelsea on Sunday.

He told Tottenham's official website: "We’re all disappointed. We should have got more but we didn’t.

"It’s frustrating – Chelsea at Wembley, we don’t seem to get any luck. We had the chances, they had a few as well but we dominated the game. We weren’t as clinical as them."

The result on Sunday means Tottenham have only won once at Wembley since the beginning of the 2016-17 campaign, which came when they beat CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

"Football-wise, there is no real difference. In fact, it only really helps us with possession when we have the ball on a bigger pitch," he added.

"As players, we don’t read anything into it and I don’t think anyone should on the outside either. We will get it turned around."
