Christian Benteke missed an injury-time penalty as Jermain Defoe frustrated Crystal Palace with two well-taken goals to help Bournemouth claim a 2-2 Premier League draw.

Defoe put Eddie Howe's Bournemouth ahead 10 minutes into Saturday's clash after finishing a well-worked short corner routine, before three goals closed out a hectic end to the first half.

Asmir Begovic was judged to have fouled Wilfried Zaha, and Luka Milivojevic stepped up to tuck away the penalty after 41 minutes.

Scott Dann then put Palace ahead three minutes later as he turned home a low Yohan Cabaye cross to net in his fourth successive Premier League game against the Cherries, but Defoe had the last say after a frantic finish to the half.

There seemed little danger as the former Tottenham striker raced onto a long bouncing ball wide on the right-hand side of the penalty area, but Defoe managed to loop a half-volley over Julian Speroni from an acute angle to equalise before the break.

Palace won another late penalty in second-half injury time, but Benteke stepped up instead of Milivojevic - only to see Begovic deny him from 12 yards.

The game finished at a frantic pace, but Palace were once again held to another frustrating draw as their survival fight continues.
