Danny Rose is in contention for Tottenham’s Champions League clash at Borussia Dortmund after making the trip to Germany and training with the first-team squad.

The 25-year-old was reportedly upset at being left out of last weekend’s north London derby defeat at Arsenal as he was instead sent to train with the reserves to rebuild his match fitness.

Pochettino strongly played down any suggestion of a bust-up amid persistent questioning about Rose’s situation in the aftermath of their loss at Emirates Stadium and upon touching down in Dortmund this evening for Tottenham’s pre-match press conference, he said: “He is doing well, the training session on Saturday was tough for him and today he will train with the group and then I decide if tomorrow he will play or not.

“I cannot speak about the rumours. If you ask is Danny Rose is here and do we have an issue, I say no. Any issue? No, no issue with him.”

Pochettino has hinted he will make changes to the starting line-up with Spurs already assured of their place in the last 16 but he insisted Harry Kane and Dele Alli were both fully fit despite appearing to struggle against the Gunners before being substituted with 16 minutes remaining.

“They were fit, both Dele Alli and Harry Kane. I spoke with everyone and we have conversations with the 25 players. Then when I get the perception and feeling, I’m going to decide.

“I don’t know who is going to play. First I will tell them and then confirm with you. All the players who are here have the possibility to play tomorrow.”

Should Alli play, he will face referee French referee Clement Turpin for the first time since being hit with a one-game ban for making an offensive gesture during England’s World Cup qualifying win over Slovakia in September.

Alli was also fined £3,850 and although FIFA’s disciplinary committee accepted the gesture had not been aimed at the referee, when asked if he would remind the midfielder of his responsibilities, Pochettino replied: “Thank you for telling me because I didn’t know. It’s important to be aware. I will tell Dele be careful if he plays. Always it’s important. The referee moves on and I’m sure nothing in his mind to ban him for that situation. But this is always good. I will tell Dele.”
