Eden Hazard: I want Diego Costa back at Chelsea

Eden Hazard has become the first Chelsea player to admit he wants Diego Costa back in the squad at Stamford Bridge.

Costa is still AWOL in Brazil and is refusing to return to training despite a move to Atletico Madrid falling through last week.

Chelsea have named him in their Premier League squad, but it is unlikely he will ever play for the club again.

Costa is still claiming that he was told by coach Antonio Conte that he was no longer wanted in June via a text message, however Chelsea's manager insists the forward was first informed in January that he'd be sold in the summer.

Hazard formed a good bond with Costa following his arrival from Atletico Madrid for £32m in 2014 and hopes he will find a resolution as soon as possible.

He said: "Diego? We spend three years together and we won everything, not the Champions League but we won the League. It was a pleasure to play with him.

"I want him back but you know I don't make the decision. But he is a top guy, a top player.

"I hope for him in the future he can find a solution and I want to see him on the pitch soon."

Standard Sport revealed last week that a transfer back to Atletico Madrid was set to fall through because the La Liga club didn't want to pay his wages for four months without being able to play him.

Atletico can't register any new players until January due to a transfer ban from FIFA, while clubs interested in taking the Spain international on a short term loan were put off by the fact he is several weeks short of match fitness due to not undergoing a proper pre-season.

Atletico, who face Chelsea in the Champions League later this month, are planning more talks with the west London club over a January transfer.
