Eden Hazard says it took no time at all to strike up a partnership with Chelsea’s summer signing Alvaro Morata, a partnership similar to the one he had with Diego Costa.

Morata made the club-record move from Real Madrid over the summer, coming in as a replacement for Atletico Madrid bound Costa.

The Spaniard has hit the ground running in London, with six goals from his first eight Premier League games and another in the Champions League, and Hazard has hailed his new teammate’s ability.

“He’s a top striker,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“When good players play together, they don’t need to train two years. When we are on the pitch, we can see the movements he does and his technical ability is good so, with Alvaro – and, before, with Diego as well – it’s good.

“I try to have a good connection with my striker because, in my position, it’s good to have this player who is like a target man, so I need a good connection with him.”
